I agree with Geert at least keep it to a very low fee.

Let the community grow.

It should be free for anyone who wants to see it. Let the community grow.

I still know what I felt (back then) when I was just trying to learn Umbraco
and had to pay for watching video’s online. That certainly is a
psychological threshold.

That's the problem with paying: if you ask 99USD for recordings you have to
hire a production/editing crew. And then you need at least 10 people if not
more, to buy the video to break even.

If you make it free, you can go with you recorder, take a camtasia
screencast, and you are done, at no cost

I'd pay, but if it were $99 I'd hope for a reasonable level of quality (in

On another note: simply make use of Camtasia or something similar to record
voice and the video output of what gets projected. Sorry for the speakers
but I'm simply interested in the content. This is something which also
rather made me annoyed at the June 7th release of Windows Azure. The camera
was more focussed on the speaker and not on the content while everyone
simply wanted to see what was on the screen. Things like that should rather
be: content displayed all the time and the speaker in a small video next to
it like on Tech Ed but not only the speaker who's mostly less important than
the raw content he's showing.

Would you all pay for the videos?

Just curious. The Capture/Post Edit/Production can be quite costly, in some
cases dwarfing the cost of the actual conference. I'm not suggesting a
charge for the video's, i'm just curious the value. If say the video's were
also $99 - same as the cost of the conference.
