I advise him to study microsoft exams, do orchard work, c#, be the best he can be, I want to be able to say to clients 'my man is freelancing elsewhere this week', no problem, your a bit of an introvert, no problem. Meanwile, people with a day job at microsoft, paid well, launch a wordpress competitor and go around saying 'come work for free' , which is not bad, if your learning your skill.
