Hello all

Wayne Turville from the Australian Orchid Nursery in Melbourne Australia
http://www.australianorchids.com.au/
I have been receiving the Orchidguide/digest now since Volume1 Issue 1 but
haven't really contributed much and for that I apologise for being a taker and
not enough of a giver.

My question for which I hope you can help is that I am being asked almost
daily to send small mail orders to the USA and are about to send off my first
batch via Air Parcel Post
I have been told that it will take about 1 week to get there and this is fine
as our Australian Dendrobiums last weeks sealed in the box.
I have waded my way through the permitting and CITES paperwork and have the
appropriate green and yellow stickers.I also have the right plant import
permits.
What I am not sure about is what happens when the plants arrive at the US
department of Agriculture and how long do they hold things up for.

I have sent plants US via freight forwarders and such, but this is far too
expensive for the average hobbyist for small orders. Air mail seems the
obvious way to go.
Are there any readers that can share some experiences with either success or
failures in importing plants via this method
