for one, didn't know you had it in you, Guido. Of course, it was impossible
to pass up on the stabs at one's "learned colleagues" (read : enemies) which
you so easily and neatly wove into the story. You know, I think this could
be made into a film. Since your return, your venomous fangs have been
bridled and I certainly like you a lot better this way, for what that's worth.

these kind world could only have been written by someone who does not know me. The outspokenness (sp.) and directness (sp?.) is in my nature, and I am allergic against stupidity and arrogance (the latter of which I have been accused myself by people who have never seen or met me). It is true that my "fangs" can be venomous. But they are never used without cause. And everyone does know that no-one ever could claim that I am in any way opinionated :-D
Eric is certainly not my enemy. It happens that I do not agree with some of his actions, and I have said so clearly, especially in view of the fact that the Pk story was not his first egocentric outburst. Phil acts as my enemy, and I fight my ground accordingly ... I have offered him my hand several times, but he chooses to blackmail people by demanding that I am not to be invited to any venue at which he "appears", and writing a letter to the German authorities on official Kew Stationary claiming that I form part of a mafia-like orchid smuggle "Mafia" was not exactly gentlemen like and not very funny either. Thus, one should know the "background" before one rates certain positions.
As far as humor is concerned. Those who know me, know very well, that I can be very humorous.
And just to put one last issue right: Gary, please rest assured that there is nothing about me that could ever be bridled.
