is indeed Dendrobium farmeri. This colour form has never been formally described, so your use of the name Dendrobium farmeri var. aurea is incorrect (plus, it would be "aureum", not "aurea"). The first record of this colour form appears to be in "Beautiful Thai Orchids" by Kamemoto & Sagarik (Orc. Soc. Thai., 1975). The authors call this colour form "Dendrobium farmeri var. aureoflava" but, once again, failed to legitimately publish the name, so it's use (in a formal sense) is incorrect. Also, the epithet should be spelled "aureoflavum", not "aureoflava". Kamemoto & Sagarik published a colour photo of this colour form, and commented that it has been collected from forest at high elevations in the Khanburi region of Western Thailand. They stated that it's leaves are thicker, broader and greener than the normal type, and that it flowers in May-July instead of Feb-March.
