Hi everyone, this is certainly opening a can of worms. I have sent a large mail order of in vitro plants via courier, DHL, to Key Largo last year, something that shouldn't take more than 4 days. After a week I heard nothing, and usually no news is good news. Imagine my horror when after 4 weeks I was contacted by DHL and told that the department of agriculture is retaining the parcel, no reasons given, but would I please forward a letter head of our laboratory confirming that the material is are artificially propagated, in an inorganic medium containing no animal derivatives and is non-infectious/non-contagious. This was done immediately, but to no avail. DHL kept on promising that their office in the US is attending to the matter, after another 4weeks of frustration and useless arguing backwards and forwards the parcel was suddenly not to be found. All this is highly suspicious to my mind, and considering that I am able to get a parcel from our little town post office (we stay 250 km from the nearest large city),to the UK in 5 days, should put these inefficient organisations to shame.
