I've received the orchid list digest and the original OLD since the early 90s and I see things aren't getting any better. The bickering and flame wars amount to a dysfunctional family and I want no more of it. There has been no sharing of technical knowledge, nothing for people other than Jerry Springer fans to enjoy lately. I grow plants for relaxation, enjoyment, wonder and to increase my knowledge. I have let my membership expire in two local orchid societies as I did several years ago with the AOS. Some orchid people hold rather high opinions of their own select cliques and their own self worth. This attitude is especially prevalent in the AOS hierarchy and the waste of money they built in Florida for their own egos at the expense of orchid lovers everywhere. I am a participant and satisfied member of some other (non-orchid) plant societies and will spend my time, money and effort there. Please remove me from this list and stop trying to waste my time.
