I have sown seed of Bletilla striata var alba both in flask, and on milled
sphagnum moss. Germination has been excellent. The main problem in sowing on
sphagnum has been separating the mass of seedlings when potting up. Once
separated, I keep them in an enclosed environment to maintain humidity until fairly
large. Seedlings out of flask seemed to mature faster, with some flowering the
third year.
