Additional comments: Water heavily. Fertilize heavily. Mine get full sunlight except between 1300-1600. Bright indirect during those hours. A well grown plant provides its own shade. I agree that Pt loves warm/hot weather. It also stays outdoors until 40F. Ray's suggestion of an airy compost works for me. My Phaius mixture is primarily styrofoam peanuts. Howard in Maryland
