The filter looks like the regular paper type filter, but it is all made
of metal. My unit has been running in winter, 24X7 for two years now.
There is some building up of minerals on the filter, though, and I am
going to try and clean it this summer.
$120 is overpriced. I hope you paid half that at Costco.
You'd better believe it! I love Costco.
The capacity of this one is only 3.5 gallons. You would
need two or three of them. If you look around and watch for sales, you can buy
filters at less than list price.
The last humidifier I owned did a good job, but the filters were huge
and cost $11 each, and I used several of them over a season. I've been
very happy with this one.
