Hi all, I am having a little fungi problem and am seeking comment that may assist me towrds a solution. Mycorrhiza has been isolated and then used to successfuly germinate the orchid seed on an oat media. All is well. Later, in some cases, the fungi becomes fluffy on the surface of the media in the flask and later starts to consume the orchid seedlings. Sometimes the problem does not occure if there is no sucrose added to the oat media, but not always. One possible cause is that there was more than one fungi in the peleton that was isolated from the plant and a non desiable fungi has now become dominant. The orchids where this is occuring are the terrestrial Caladenia and Pterostylis. Thankyou in appreciation,
Dick Thomson
