, *b and such happen because you write your post in word, copy and paste into
your e-mail send
message, and then your e-mail program converts it to plain text to send after you
press the send button. Before you press the send button everything looks good, then it
shows up on the OGD with ,*b and other things, especially when you meant for a
"quote" to be there. This happens in any Mozilla e-mail program like the current
Thunderbird, but it may happen in any e-mail program with plain texts set as default
on your send options.
Instructions for changing the default in Mozilla Thunderbird, other e-mail programs
will be similar but may take a little snooping around.

<><>Go to: Tool (main bar) > Options > Composition. On this page go to "Send and HTML
Options" near the bottom. You will see
"Configure text format behavior" and a button called "send options". Press button. In
the Text Format box at the top change "convert the message to plain
text" to "send message in both plain text and html" by pressing the down arrow and
highlighting.Press OK buttons all the way out.
