Here's a question: many of my plants have started to put out new leads. Generally, I like to have my fertillizing schedule coordinate with the seasons, which means I'm due for a slow down soon, but since so many of my plants seem to starting another active growth phase...I donno... Thoughts?
Michael,
One of the adages in orchid growing goes something like this: "Look at your orchids, they will tell you what to do." The hard part for beginners though is understanding what to do and letting go of what books may tell you. If an orchid is growing "out of season" treat it with the same regiment as when it is growing "in season". You do have to take into account for how fast a pot dries out if temperatures, sunlight, humidity are different from your "in season" growing. You will find some orchids are like clock work, others have a mind of their own and don't read books or care about seasons.
