My wife dries all kinds of flowers in silica gel, which you can get from a crafts supply house. Thick fleshy orchid flowers are more difficult than thinner types; but it may work anyway. Some colors will last well and others may not. I would try several different types, such as dendrobiums, oncidiums, phalaenopsis, and maybe small Cattleyas.
