I have a small team working in Peru at the moment. One wrote to say that a
local shaman had told him that a small, very rare orchid with little white
flowers was a powerful hallucinogen, much more so than ayahuasca
(Bannisteropsis capii) the normal drug of choice. This information came from
the area near Cusco, where the highlands dip into the Madre de Dios jungle.
Does anyone know more about this, as I thought that orchids had
disappointingly limited general medicinal properties.
