Wilford,
I know you are a very good grower of orchids so I value your information. I just want
to double check that this is correct.

You wrote:

"The plant will usually start a new growth sometime in Dec or by Jan, and from then
until blooming no more water and no more fertilizer should be given. If water is given
early it will not form an inflorescence; if water is given after buds form they will
blast. The plant will usually bloom in June, and water can be restarted after the flowers
are gone. This means that the plant has been without water for at least 6mo (although in a
humid greenhouse), and as a result there is significant crenation of the pseudobulbs;
however, these plump up after resumption of watering."

What I understand from the above statement is that in a humid greenhouse no water is
to be given Cuitlauzina pendula from the time it starts a new growth until after it
flowers are gone which is about 6 months? At least for me this is very
counterintuitive. I am hoping that in the first sentence you meant to write new
inflorescence instead of new growth.

Thanks,
Mark Sullivan
