I cannot tell you where the expenses or revenues appear on the IRS report -
that would be a question to ask Michelle Meeks, CFO, or Will Rhodehamel,
Treasurer. Michelle is also the person who sends out the financials. That
information is at the very bottom of the page "Your AOS at Work" which is at:

Delray Beach Orchid Society pledged $5,000 at the gala to be paid over a
number of years (maybe 5?). There was a wish list in the gala program book
and I recall that Delray donated for a garden spot of some type. We moved a
few months ago and my records are somewhere!

Most of the profits from the gala came from items being donated for the silent
auction. A trip valued at $5,000 was donated. It brought $5,000 at a live
auction. The rest of the items were silent auction ones and these included
some very nice items, there were 2 FCC orchids.

I don't have anything against galas but they need to be one part of an overall
fundraising/business plan. It was a big undertaking for an organization that
just opened a public facility.
