The new national park would combine the existing Otway National Park and the Angahook-Lorne, Carlisle and Melba Gully State Parks with tracts of former state forest.
It would protect 43 threatened species -- 12 of which are found nowhere else -- including the spot-tailed quoll and spiral sun-orchid."
