Hi Sandy,

I will be attending the Dijon WOC as a sight-seer. I have been to Dijon
several times, the city is nice, and the surroundings are outstanding for
wine, food, and architecture.

I cannot imagine to comment on what complaints I have read through the OGD,
being absolutely inexperienced in shows, let alone international shows. I
am just hoping it will all turn out well and there will be many orchids to
see, as well as interesting plants to purchase.

As I understand it from friends on this side of the giant pond, many people
are likely to pre-order plants from nurseries that are going to attend (even
if only as showers and not as vendors). As to paperwork, the Dijon show has
promised to set up an office on site for dealing with paperwork and
phytosanitary/cites papers... so you don't have to worry about
customs/inspections in Paris (or at least that is how I understood the
website).

I wish everyone participating the best, and hope all goes well for you. I
am looking forward to seeing you all there... and sincerely wish it will be
a good experience for everyone taking part.

:)

Yeah... official events are expensive... but I guess they are sending you to
the top restaurant in the area, with their renouned wines from one of the
best cellars of the world. But, I am sure there are cheaper alternatives in
the area, too, if you are not inclined to the group events.

Marianne
