Hi everyone, I recently photographed two Ida species at the Peninsula Orchid Society show in Redwood City, CA, this weekend.
I can't tell if they are Ida grandis or Ida heynderycxii. One of the owners thought his was Ida grandis, but then was told it was Ida gigantea. Well, the Orchid Digest article on Idas from Jan/Feb/Mar 2003 shows an Ida gigantea that doesn't look anything like that plant. To my untrained eye, I think they are Ida grandis, but there are so many more knowledgeable people than myself, I thought I would ask. Here are the photos of the two Idas from the show: http://tinyurl.com/4qf7l http://tinyurl.com/58ym5 Thanks, -Eric in SF www.orchidphotos.org -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
