Hello Iris, If it is that luedd. var. 'Dark Tiger' I'd be happy to have it ; ) All of my lueddemannianas and close relatives flower under 2 shoplights, though it is also in a windowsill so that there is some extra light from the *sun* (a term used loosely around this neck of the woods...). They are in my 'heated' stand, and the temperature is almost never below 65F. It could just be that being a first-bloomer it was a little unsure of itself and wanted ot wait until it grew up a bit. I put most of my plants right withing 2" of the bulbs, and they suffer no ill-effects. Maybe you can just put it right under the middle of the bulbs almost touching the tubes. good luck, charles my phal sumatrana flowers I've decided smell an awful-lot like mushrooms. Not exactly pleasant, but some people seem to like it. Phal celebensis inflorescence is 27 inches long, and the buds are just now emerging. I think 30" is a safe bet -- Charles Ufford Calen the Border Collie CGC - now in Heaven Oriskany, NY USA IPA, Central NY and Southern Tier Orchid Societies [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.paphiopedilum.net Http://www.geocities.com/charlesufford _______________________________________________ the OrchidGuide Digest (OGD) [email protected] http://orchidguide.com/mailman/listinfo/orchids_orchidguide.com
