Is the scent of Selenipedium seed pods similar because of the presence of the aroma compound vanillin in both genera (Vanilla and Selenipedium) ?

What is the reference ?

It would certainly be interesting to find out if the bats attracted by the scent actually eat the seed capsules.

It is presumed that the seeds of Apostasia, Selenipedium and Vanilla, are dispersed by animals.

Are you aware of studies that have been conducted on the dispersal of orchid seeds by animals, following
ingestion ?
