*Found in Ecuador in seasonally dry cloud forests on the western slopes of the Andes at elevations of 600 to 1300 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with onion-shaped, basally enveloped with green then becoming evanescent, sheaths carrying 2 apical, strap-shaped leaves that blooms in the late winter through summer on a 2’ [60 cm] long, branching, several to many flowered inflorescence. This species is separated from other Ecuadorian species by it’s wjhite lip and smooth ovary. *
