recently for cultural advice for yoru newsletter on the Cattleya Alliance… You might
want to check out the Oct – Dec special issue of Orchid Digest magazine for
2005. This year-end issue is devoted to the Cattleya Alliance, and features an
extensive article by William Rogerson, Greg Allikas and Alan Koch on the topics
you mentioned. The Orchid Digest, a quarterly journal, is published by an
all-volunteer staff that meets weekly at the Huntington Botanical Gardens near
Pasadena, CA. I believe some back issues are still available for volume 68(4). Also, the
AOS provides about 20 excellent culture sheets free of charge for the most
popular orchid genera and growing conditions. Visit their website, www.aos.org, and click on Orchid
Information/General Information/Culture Sheets. You’ll also find The Orchid
Doctor and Monthly Checkllist here, both of which have been a great help to me
