Still quite impressive for a relatively small plant; mine is about 8 inches 
tall (psuedobulbs + leaves).

FWIW, my Ansellia africana just finished blooming with nary a catch-root in 
sight.  Maybe I should ecourage some of the ants living in my hydnophytums to 
move over to an orchid pot and see what happens!

Does anyone know if orchids that house ants within their pseudobulbs also 
produce catch roots?  Since the plant isn't rooting into an ant nest, one might 
predict no.  How about "trash basket" Anthuriums?  At they associated with ants?
