The problem is the misting. It causes buds to rot off. I was just waiting for
you to say you mist them. When the plants put on a spike, stop misting and just
water individually.

    Subject: [OGD] difficulty with flowers

Hello everyone! I hope this note finds each of you in good health.
It's been great reading the progression of thought, personal observations,
etc. concerning the production of 'catch roots'. Not to change the subject
 -
    but ...
I have yet to get flowers from Neostylis Lou Sneary, Brassavola nodosa, and

only a couple from Cochleanthes amazonica (which tries to flower all
winter).
What I mean is they begin to show an inflorescence which turns brown soon
after ( dry in the first two plants, wet in the last case ). It's very
frustrating. Especially since I have other plants - Enc alata, Bc Nok
Noi, Bl
Yellowbird, Hwra Lava Burst, Onc Sharry Baby, Soph cernua, even a pleuro -
 with
which I have no problem. All the plants are grouped together in the same
window, with the same humidity, same water source and feeding schedule,
same
    misting.
The stubborn plants are positioned to receive what I believe is the right
amount of light (evidenced by the fact they try to flower - correct?)
I have considered the humidity may be low, but don't understand why, if
that's the case, why only some plants are affected.
    Any ideas or advice?
    Thanks in advance!
Bob Campoli - Philadelphia, PA - A rescued (from HD) pink Phal (with nice
silvery and gray-green leaves), and Leptotes bicolor with flowers.
