Peter, The difference is that B.O.C(British Orchid
Council). judges cannot award certificates-FCC, AM, CCC etc. They can only be
awarded by the RHS Orchid Committee.This committee meets monthly , mainly in
London but also at other venues.
Countries like the USA have a problem due to the
size of their country but try to overcome this by setting a standard for all
judging . This means that various States/committees can award
certificates.
As' beauty is always in the eye of the beholder'
this will inevitably lead to anomalies.
