Iris,

No, that is not correct. SLC Anzac 'Kelly' was awarded an AM/AOS in Oakland, CA on October 15, 1963. It was from a selfing of SLC Anzac, presumably from the 'Orchidhurst' clone, although it is not stated.

In doing a little more research on this topic I find that the RHS Index to the Orchid Review is incomplete, as there was another award, to SLC Anzac 'Lutetia' FCC/RHS on May 20, 1919. In going back and reading the original Orchid Review announcement of awards I find that the first award (1917) listed the parentage as Scl Marathon X C. dowiana. All subsequent awards list Lc Dominiana X Scl Marathon. So just to check I went to the 1921-1923 supplement to Sander's List of Orchid Hybrids and it lists the later as parents. So when it was awarded in 1917 the parentage was improperly indicated.

SLC Anzac was indeed registered in 1921, but all the RHS quality awards were made before WW2. An AM in 1917, an FCC in 1919 and another FCC in 1938.

According to Wildcatt, Anzac doesn't have any AOS awards. Is that correct? Yet, when I started growing orchids in the 70's, Anzac was still highly regarded & sought after, and was being used in hybridizing right & left.
