On the internet, one can find the following :
"CLEANING & STERILIZING CLAY POTS
Materials needed:
5 gallon bucket Water One cup of vinegar 1/2 to 3/4 cup of bleach
Instructions for cleaning and sterilizing a clay pot :
Prepare the solution. Fill the bucket with water. Add the vinegar and bleach. Submerge the pot. Place the clay pot in the solution and leave it overnight.
The solution removes the crusty "salt" buildup and destroys any pathogens that may be present."

*********** So far, I have always sterilized clay pots in an oven. Apparently, the 'liquid solution' might be as efficient.
1) Is there any scientific article that you could refer to that would confirm the efficiency of cleaning clay pots in a dilution ?
Bert [Pressman] wrote "there are lots of real studies in the literature about the rapid effectiveness against virus of chlorine"

So far, he has failed to provide any reference to such studies.
2) Should one be concerned about any chemical residue remaining in the clay after using the above given dilution ?
[reference to scientific articles appreciated...]
