Welcome Rick!
I believe that Angraecum leonis will need brighter light than your Phal,
but neither need direct sun. I know under my conditions (eastern facing
windowsill) direct sun will burn the leaves of a Phal. I keep most of mine
behind a cheesecloth curtain. The two that are not (no more room) are in
direct sun for about an hour to an hour and a half, screened by other
orchids. Even so their leaves are smaller and harder than the others and
they grow more slowly.
My only Angraecum is A. calceolus. I give it brighter light than my
Phals. I was told by a vendor that most Angcm. need lots of light to grow and
flower well, but until I see or hear that about A.caceolus specifically I
will keep it where it is. :-) On the table in front of the window
with about two hours of morning sun. Of course it hasn't flowered
yet. I may buy it a silk flower and glue it on.
