The postion on Dockrillia is confused to say the least. It depends on who you
follow or believe and at present it is volitile.

Dockrillia is a usefull group for growers to identify with as most are clearly
different in plant morphology.

The work done on Dendrobium is not complete and discussions are continuing on
the Scientific breakdown on this genus.

Dockrillia species was recognised prematurely by some people and should not
have been taken out of Dendrobium for horticulture until the work is more
complete.

We should not be too eager to change the horticultural names every time a new
paper is published.

Dockrillia will remain in Australia on the Show bench schedules until the final
publication of the data in 2 or 3 years.

In other words, in Australia both Dockrillia and Dendrobium will be used for
these species dependent on the Orchid Society. It is hoped that this situation
will be resolved when GO is published on Dendrobiums in 2 or 3 years time.
