Guido, you are so correct about Moir, another displaced Pom who knew it all and who really created a trove of misinformation. One of his great errors was the confident prediction (aren't they always like this!) that Miltonia spectabilis var Moreliana would be a terrible parent. Fortunately some of us ignored him and used it in a tetraploid form to make useful breakthrough crosses like Vuyls. Mem Mary Kavanaugh which have led to quality heat-tolerant showy hybrids.
