Hi Dennis, 

Here you are talking about phenotype rather than percent genetic 
contribution from each parent.  It depends how variable the two parent 
species are and which individuals are chosen to make the cross.  Even 
sibs from the same two parents won't be absolutely identical; My 
sister and I are not genetically identical, yet we did both inherit 
50% of our chromosomes from our mother and 50% from our father.  In 
orchid hybrids, I would probably expect much more variability in the 
F1 offspring of two wild collected plants compared to the F1 offspring 
of two line bred plants.
