Last I heard (about 3 weeks ago), he was holding his own. Some
fairly serious medical issues that weren't being taken care of at first, but
they have improved considerably.
He is apparently something to behold to the other residents - knows about
plants so he's known as the "Produce man" and rescued and positively ID'd a toad
that was going to be killed as a dangerous snake or lizard...
There is also some hope of a release earlier than the 17 month
sentence.
