I have an Oberonia setigera that has been geting smaller and smaller under
my care.
I looked for cultural suggestions in Cootes' book, and believe I've been
growing it too warm and too bright. I've had it I-W, in 2500 - 3000 Ft-can
of light. Maybe a bit brighter. Its mounted on a piece of wood with a bit
of moss.
Would it prefer cooler temps? (Cootes says this is found at 1200m in the
Phillippines - Luzon but I have no idea what temps are like there.)
Would it prefer basket or pot?
Would it prefer more shade? (Cootes says it grows in shadier locales on
Luzon, but I'd like to get a handle on how much shade that means.)
I also have an Oberonia species from Burma. I have no other info about it,
but seem to recall it had an orange flowered inflorescence, rather
rat-tail-like. I know. No help. I suspect they all have rat-tail-like
inflorescences... It too has been getting smaller, and I had it in the same
area of the GH that the setigera was in. It is mounted on wood.
I have since moved both to the cooler side of the GH and into Paph light.
But I'd like any sort of guideance, rather than casting aimlessly about.
