Steve, thank you for the reference. I am not too sure that they are authorities but it does provide food for thought, at least for Cattleya culture. The fact that they list Cymbidium as a CAM plant causes me to be cautious. Private research in The Netherlands has not confirmed this.
The spectacular success of Jerry's Grow could only be explained by foliar feeding. Apparently the incorporated methanol allowed fertilizer to pass across the cuticle or through the stomata in some extremely efficient way as fertilizer concentration, per se, was very low. No-one has ever grown Cymbidiums or Cattleyas faster than Jerry Rodder anywhere in the world. His climate in Central California helped but it had to have been his fertilizer that provided the main stimulus.
