Thank you to Dalton Holland Baptista for his reply on OGD, and thanks also to several people who responded via private emails. The general consensus seems to be that E. alboxanthina is, in fact, distinct from E. pachyantha, and my plant falls within the range of variation for E. alboxanthina. One person sent me a picture of an E. alboxanthina flower that looked quite different from my plant, but another sent a series of photos of variants ranging from flowers that resemble the photo sent by the first person, to flowers that resemble my plant (though with somewhat better form than my plant.
It would seem that I can leave the label on my plant. Nick -- Nicholas Plummer [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ the OrchidGuide Digest (OGD) [email protected] http://orchidguide.com/mailman/listinfo/orchids_orchidguide.com
