Nancy, Glad you survived Rita. All we got in San Antonio was the heat.
I have had excellent results with using ground cinnamon on any damage to my orchids, especially my Vandas. Our spring hail stroms sometimes catch some of the plants not under cover. There is suppose to be some anticeptic properties to the cinnamon. Take Care. Last Monday, at our regular orchid society meeting, several people were talking about a wind-borne fungus that was attacking oncidium alliance plants post-Katrina. After our *last* hurricane in 2002, I lost several plants, most notably Phalaenopsis, to what I think was a bacterial rot initiated by impact from 100mph dust or sand. Sooooo - some suggestions on trying to head off any problems this time? I will treat all foliage with fungicide. It is still essentially mid-summer here, so the plants are going back into the yard. I'd be grateful for any advice.
