If someone was to cross Dendrobium lancifolium (wiry stems, large single-flowered inflorescences) with a typical intersectional Dendrobium hybrid (something with lots of D. bigibbum in it, to provide velvety dark purple stripes on the midlobe),
I don't know anything about D. lancifolium, but I have Den. Candy Cane (Aussie Green x Penang Stripe), which has distinct maroon stripes painted all over the flowers like the latest striped Phals. The habit is the same as the Den. phalaenopsis x lithocola hybrids that I am fond of. It stays about 18 inches tall and is a good bloomer, with multiple racemes of 5 or 6 flowers each. Only difference is that the segments are pointed. Flowers last & last.
I am e-mailing you a copy of the pedigree in Adobe PDF. If you can't read it, let me know & I will mail you a printed copy. Should give you a starting point. Dunno how you would get stripes in just the lip.

Talk is cheap because supply exceeds demand.
