You didn't print my full quote. It started "This thing kicks ass."

A fellow on rgo asked me privately if I could run a few mundane searches for him, just to see what sort of info this program could supply to a non-judge. He wanted stuff like number of dendrobium hybrids.

So I diddled around with it. You can do that and more. There's a feature where you can list species by geographic area. Looking at North American species you can refine the search to look for fragrant orchids, ones with Wiz photos only, or a variety of cultural condtions. Looking for North American fragrant, cold growing species yeilds a list of 38 species. Starting with Aret. Bulbosa (whatever that is) and ending with Stan. oculata. If he has a picture or drawing a thumbnail shows. Clicking on the thumbnail enlarges the piicture to viewing size. The species are listed along with # of Progeny , Offspring (What the difference is I don't know) and # AOS awards. Clicking on a column heading sorts that column. Click once it sorts from lo to high. Click again it re-sorts from high to low. So Lyc skinneri has 121 offspring, and there are AOS 21 awards. Click on the Offspring tab brings up an award table and you can see the award data. And sort those columns.

This must be what driving a Ferrari is like.

I have no affiliation with the company. I have not gotten any money or product for my comments. I don't even remember Alex's last name (the fellow who created the CD).

I started commenting on the product on rgo, because it was a more friendly sort of place to talk about the product than here, and I didn't want to stake my reputation here. But I decided not to be a coward and actuallly say something. State my opinion boldly and in a forum where more people may actually want to get some information. Go to the website. Look at the features. Decide for yourself. If you had no need for Wildcatt you won't need this one either. But this is the program to buy if you've been sitting on the fence.

There was a little trouble with getting it to load on my laptop, which Alex took care of. It loaded on my desktop like a charm. A person in Italy using the German version of Windows had trouble getting it to load because there's a diffent location for 'Program Files' in European versions of Windows. Alex has fixed that.
