Howdy, Folks. I remember a while back that some of the subscribers here wrote of a chemical weed-killer that was reported to do well with potted orchids. I seem to remember that it was popular in Australia, and for some reason, the letter "K" comes to mind, too. Maybe it had a different name in Australia than it does over here in the States. There is an orchidist who has many pots with a lot of invasive oxalis. This gentelman has limited mobility due to replaced joints, and wishes to find a chemical that he can spray that will help him control the invasion in his orchid pots. Here's a quote from him: In the 80's and 90's Stewart Orchids in California sold Simazine 80WP and it worked, they do not carry it any more and it may be one of the chemical that are off the market. That "Simazine" name is not the one that I kind of remember, unless that is the Western Hemisphere's name for the chemical used in Australia. Who can help me out with this? Thanks much! Dan S. |
