Unless I am mistaken, since judges are not taxonomists, they are supposed to judge plants on the basis of the label. Assuming it as what you had it labeled, the only thing for which it could have been  most likely considered would have been a provisional botanical award-either a CBR, or CHM. In either case it would require official identification which could easily be obtained from the official AOS identification center at Selby Botanical Garden in Sarasota, FL.
