I have found this to be a fairly light feeder by cymbidium standards. If you are getting leaf tips browning then it is either too little water or too much feed when the roots are relatively inactive. If you can put the plant outside over Summer in medium shade, it will thrive. As it is not a high light intensity lover, unlike most cymbidiums, it should be very happy under lights over Winter. I have grown it in a coconut fiber/bark mix and sphagnum moss with quite similar results. The alba form is a little touchier but that is not uncommon in the genus Cymbidium.
