Guido,

First of all, I did NOT claim that Kew is the ultimate authority. I merely
told everyone where the information I provided came from.

Secondly, your tirade about Index Kewensis is totally off base as the
information I provided did not come from there, and therefore it was not
part of the discussion. Your continued confusion between the two separate
entities and your inability to differentiate between them does you a
disservice. Additionally, it confuses people on the list, and gives them a
false impression that they are one and the same, which they definitely are
not (This is not to say that there are not errors or inaccuracies in both
lists, because there are). However, one is the current thinking of Kew
regarding the status of a particular taxon and the other is just a list of
where taxa have been published. Some years ago when you tried to change
things you were dealing with the Index Kewensis, try making some changes to
the Kew Monocot Checklist.

Thirdly, I know the difference between nomenclature issues and taxonomic
issues.

And lastly, you certainly DID question the validity of the Kew Monocot
Checklist, because you continually confuse it with the Index Kewensis, which
you continually trash, therefore you trashed it also.
