The living rate of young plants, when transferred to gardens, is high and the success is expected to conserve the genes of the Hai Hang (P. hangianum) and the Hai Tam Dao (P. gratrxianum [gratrixianum]) orchids. Associate Professor, Dr Dang Xuyen Nhu, who heads the group of scientists, said the two species are endemic to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. They are mainly found on mountains in northern Vietnam at an altitude of 450-1,100m.
