Hello all,

Does anyone know how to distinguish a Cattleya mooreana and Cattleya luteola
vegetatively?
Thanks in advance.

kind regards,

Hendrik
Hendrik, I have grown several different specimens of each of these species and have been impressed by the differences in vegetative morphology within each species.  In general, my impression is that C. mooreana has a more upright or vertical growth habit than does C. luteola which is more of a creeping species and is typically splayed.   C. luteola is usually much smaller than C. mooreana when both are well grown.  I hope that this is helpful.
