Dear Leo Schordje,
I just found your message now. I did not ask for any kind of donations.
I only asked for the names of the best orchid nurseries around the world.
The OGD is about exchanging orchid info. I am sorry for the misunderstanding.

This is my volunteer project and I dont need any help - donating time etc.
I can get as much help as needed from the local University Extension.

The site is still under construction. It is a trial site to see if we can attract advertisers. It may work and it may not. In the meantime everyone who is listed on the site is getting a lot of free advertising. I am the one who is donating a lot of time and money on this mind-boggling project.
The search engines are providing all the advertising needed. The site is already on top and listed on their first pages in many categories.
What is my reward? The satisfaction of doing something grant, doing it well, being successful and helping others. Our University has a large volunteer force. I am one of them. Volunteer work and charity are very important.
I know the site will get linked by many Arboretums, Botanical Gardens and Plant Societies.
I am sorry I have bothered you and the rest of the group with this web site.

Subject: Re: [OGD] Orchids Digest, Vol 8, Issue 206 To: [email protected] Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Dear Siegrid Stern, Bromeliad Queen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> My time is limited, my
intellectual property is valuable. It is unreasonable to ask for donations of either without more information. What is the name of the Non-profit group that would be benefiting from my (and other OGD member's) efforts? Is your non-profit a registered 501(c.)3 entity. What information can be supplied that would demonstrate that this is not just another for profit site who wants to use content other people have worked hard to create. Give us something more than "Hey kids, Let's rent a barn and put on a Show" to mis-quote Mickey Rooney in an old movie. Reply to the group, as I am sure there are others in the group who would donate time and content if they thought this was actually a real conservation group. Leo
