Interesting that there is confirmation that colour
blindness may not be recognised by one (or several) who have the condition!
However, since the phenomenon is variable in degree and the colours not
distiguished, where would the line be drawn? In any case, isn't
colour just one aspect of the the many judging criteria rather
than "all important"? And with a possible 20% of males having the condition what
would be the chances of an entire judging team (50-50 male/female?)having the
condition? Should judges undergo a test? Maybe short sightedness or long
sight should be included too . . . and, of course, no photochromic or tinted
spectacles. And would they be permitted to create hybrids . . . and on and on .
. . . Have there been any problems so far?
