Great pictures at http://www.pbase.com/schnitz/virus_in_orchids. Thanks for making the webpage. You don't say which virus was in the infected plants. Do you recall what it/they were? Or were both CyMV and ORSV present in these cases? Of course the page of negative results look just as bad as the positive results. Again, pointing to the need for testing but as Aaron says, the tests aren't foolproof, so I'm not sure where that leaves us. Unless, as you say, the hobby becomes fun again once the weak plants are removed from the collection. Like Tom Hillson says, Just toss 'em.
Maybe that's the take home message. Wow. Suddenly I have bench space...
