"Baby Spowart, former president of POS [Philippine Orchid Society]...

has been doing... hybridization of... spathoglottis...

she advocates... that one can multiply this genus by dividing the clump
into single pseudobulbs. She emphasized... that when planting the bulbs,
they should not be submerged. It is best to replant when they are
rootbound, but they should be replanted only into slightly bigger pots.
Overpotting is not advisable.

According to Spowart, spathoglottis does not have a defined flowering
season, whether it is a species or a hybrid. They usually flower when their
bulbs have matured. The plants should be planted in a medium that drains
well. They respond to compost. They don't like an alkaline medium.

...The pollinated flowers develop seed pods that mature in 30 to 45 days
from pollination. The seed pods may be directly sown onto the mother
plant's exposed surface roots as they are likely to contain the needed
michorrhizal fungi for seed germination."
